Hannah Yankasky
Hannah Faith Yankasky fell into comedy after realizing that her comedic outlook on life was not a perspective everyone shared. It started out with making her family laugh by telling stories about her day, but after writing a sketch for the senior sketch show back in Xenia, OH, she had the thought, “Maybe I can actually do this.” Since 2013 she has been a part of the Columbus comedy community and does improv, standup, and storytelling, all when she isn’t taking care of her baby Two XX Sketch.
“The best part is when you write something and the audience is like, ‘Yes! I’ve totally thought that,’ or ‘That’s so true and I never even realized it!’ It’s cool to put our feelings of what’s going on in the world or of our experience in a vehicle on stage, and together with the audience look at it and realize that no matter how different our experiences are, we all still have so much in common.”
Two XX Sketch - The Beginnings
Two XX Sketch began in January of 2018 when local female comedians, Dalia Natour and Hannah Yankasky joined together to put on an all female written and directed sketch show. What was our motivation, you ask? As members of the Columbus improv and comedy community, we wanted to see more women on stage, more women doing their own work and with that motivation Two XX Sketch was born.
We perform live shows at local Columbus venues, create goofy sketch videos ranging from “What would the Godfather be like if re-done with Millennials?” to song parodies about Vegans.
It’s quirky, fun, and sometimes just plain weird. At the end of the night, we just want to know we made you laugh a little (and hopefully a lot).
Dalia Natour
Dalia has been performing in the Columbus, Ohio comedy and theatre community since her arrival to the city in the summer of 2015. Originally from Appomattox, Virginia, she’s a scientist by day, but by night she’s been an avid performer of improv comedy since 2015 with a variety of groups and individuals. Dalia has also been an active member of the independent theatre community since 2018. She is a current member of the MadLab theatre ensemble and performs throughout Columbus on various projects both with MadLab and other independent theaters.
“I draw a lot of my inspiration mainly from being a big ole weirdo, and the other stuff from growing up as a first generation immigrant in the middle of Virginia.”
